Purpose of the building

Minster Court is a purpose-built, gated development of residential flats divided in two adjoining blocks (North and South) each with 30 flats.

Surrounding areas

All areas outside the main buildings are Garden Areas. In these areas some space is reserved for parking, ornamental plants, relaxation and footpaths. The swimming pool is made available exclusively to residents,

Infrastructure

Minster Court is located in very close proximity to underground stations: Hanger Lane, Park Royal and Ealing Broadway. Bus station near property is called Hillcrest Road.

Location

Minster Court is located on the top of the Hillcrest Road. Hanger Hill Park and Hanger Hill Wood are in close proximity of the building.

History in pictures

Hanger Hill, on a Wakefield's card posted in 1911. This is looking north from just north of Hillcrest Road. The road has obviously been widened a lot and straightened a little since then, but the sort of lay-by where the man is sitting is still discernible today, and I'm wondering if the bench was provided because a bus stopped there, as today. At the bend in the distance a roof can be seen, and this belonged to a farm outbuilding, while over the man's shoulder a long wall and gateposts can be seen, which I think were part of Greystoke House and an entrance to it. On the left, the edge of a signpost can be seen, with the letter "N" - perhaps it read "Alperton". Posted in Ealing History Facebook Group
